Two More for the Trophy Case | The 2013 Total Quality Index Awards

A vehicle’s reliability can dictate how satisfied you’ll be with a car over the years and can play a large role in the vehicle’s resale value. Chrysler consumers made their presence known at the 2013 Strategic Vision Total Quality Index Awards, ranking the 2013 Chrysler Town & Country and the 2013 Chrysler 200 Convertible as the best in the minivan and convertible segment.

These Chrysler vehicles were ranked highest in their respective segments based on responses from 17,568 owners who purchased 2013 vehicles between September and November 2012. Strategic Vision measures “Total Quality” by studying more than 440 variables that encompass positive and negative experiences, including:

  • Satisfaction with the complete ownership experience
  • Perception of quality
  • Owner reported delight
  • Future purchase intent
  • Emotional attachment to vehicle

Top Index scores, which ranged from 847 to 959, determined the number-one-ranked vehicle in each segment. The 2013 Town & Country took the top spot for the minivan segment, receiving a score of 850.

The Chrysler 200 Convertible received a respectful 917 points, bypassing the segment average, winning the title of best drop-top under $30,000.

This study recognizes the superior quality of Chrysler vehicles, resulting in ongoing customer satisfaction long after the car is driven off the lot. These wins for the Chrysler brand also contributed to a victory for all domestic brands, outnumbering the wins of foreign automakers for the first time in almost a decade.
