Chrysler Forward Look is bringing you a series of posts that spotlight the most unique roadside attractions located along America’s most heavily trafficked highways. This week we will highlight spots to break up the long drive along Interstate 75, which runs from Michigan all the way down to Miami, Florida.
45th Parallel: Gaylord, Michigan
Gaylord rests on the 45th parallel – halfway between the equator and the North Pole. The road sign is located on northbound I-75 just south of Gaylord. This is one of 29 places (six are in Michigan) in the United States where such signs are known to exist.
SunWatch Indian Village: Dayton, Ohio
SunWatch Indian Village is located in Dayton, Ohio, along the banks of the Great Miami River. Excavated from 1971 to 1988, the site has been recreated to provide a glimpse at what life was like 800 years ago when it was inhabited by the Fort Ancient Native Americans.

The Lost Sea Adventure: Sweetwater, Tennessee
Deep inside a mountain near Sweetwater in East Tennessee is a remarkable body of water known as The Lost Sea. Listed by Guinness World Records as America’s largest underground lake, the Lost Sea is part of an extensive and historic cave system called Craighead Caverns. Tours through the cavern include a boat ride on the Lost Sea and take approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.

Red Top Mountain State Park: Cartersville, Georgia
This popular park on Lake Allatoona is ideal for swimming, with a beautiful beach nestled in a cove and surrounded by trees. Red Top Mountain is also a hiker’s haven, with more than 15 miles of trails winding through the forested park, providing opportunities for exercise and nature photography.
