First came word of a landmark relationship between the Chrysler brand and Motown: The Musical on Broadway. Now, Forward Look is pleased to report on another exciting development between the Chrysler and Motown brands—the 2013 Chrysler 300 Motown Edition.
Chrysler designers have teamed with Motown founder Berry Gordy to style a vehicle that captures the ultimate essence of the Motown spirit. The Chrysler 300 Motown Edition is a car that’s just as easy on the eyes as it is on the ears. The latter point is thanks to a selection of 100 Motown classics preloaded on a USB drive, the music never sounding better than with the available 10-speaker Beats Audio system with 12-channel amplifier and proprietary Beats Audio algorithm.
Unique features of this vehicle—beyond the Motown playlist—include 20-inch chrome “heritage” wheels, a Mopar chrome grille, and new Motown fender badging. The vehicle is available in four exterior paint colors (Bright White, Gloss Black, Deep Cherry Red, and Jazz Blue), all serving to complement the new two-tone interior seats, which are each embossed with the Motown “M” logo. Extensive use of Piano Black on the interior center stack, instrument panel, steering wheel, and gauge cluster, and on elements of the door panel, provide a uniquely lacquered and highly detailed appearance. Completing this special-edition interior are authentic Black Olive Ash wood trim and satin silver finished accents.
For power, the Chrysler 300 Motown Edition boasts a potent transmission-engine combo created by pairing the award-winning Pentastar V-6 with the ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, the result of which is best-in-class V-6 fuel efficiency with an EPA-estimated 31 mpg on the highway.
The 2013 Chrysler 300 Motown Edition arrives at Chrysler dealerships nationwide in the spring of 2013.
